The public image of Christianity
If you base your image of Christians on the so called "Moral Majority" that you read about in the Papers and other sources then I believe you have a very skewed image. I do not propose to speak for all Christians on all things but I believe my more moderate view is closer to what the true majority believe. Over the course of time I intend to address various issues and beliefs in-depth. Today I would like to cover in general how I believe Christians should deal with sin in others.

Let me start off by saying that I believe that Christians should be using Paul's Teachings to show us the way to follow Christ.

Ro 2:16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

1ti 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

1ti 1:16
Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

1co 11:1 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ

1co 4:15 For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.
1co 4:16 Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me.

See also Philippians 3:17

As you can see Paul clearly said on many occasions to follow his example and teachings. If you study Pauls teachings you will see that in all things he shows GRACE. In my Studies I have come to learn to HATE THE SIN and LOVE THE SINNER. How are we to use that principle? The best way to answer that question is to look at a few big news issues that you see in the papers and give you my opinions.

ABORTION: If all you knew about the Christian viewpoint on abortion came from the news you would probably believe that all Christians want to chain themselves to the doors of the abortion clinics or blockade and picket. Do I believe abortion is wrong and tragic YES. Yet I do not believe that the radical approach is the correct one. As a Christian I feel that it is my responsibility to reach out with LOVE and GRACE. If we as Christians want to stop abortions then we need to provide alternatives , We also have to work to prevent unwanted pregnancies. We need to support programs that teach abstinence to our teens. We also I believe that we need to support those programs reachout and help unwed mothers to bring their baby to term and make good choice about adoption and /or keeping the child.

HOMOSEXUALITY: Is it part of Gods intention for people to be homosexual? No. Yet God did not intend for any Sin to be a part of his creation. For those that say you are born homosexual in a way I have to agree with you in that we are all born with a sin nature. Yet that being said I do not believe that any person has the right to persecute and castigate homosexuals. That is not the Christian way. I firmly believe that we Need to deal with all sin in one of two ways. For the non Christians I believe that we need to introduce them to the the LOVE AND GRACE of GOD that Paul teaches us about and to help them to understand that Christ DIED for THEM. For the Christian I think that Gentle correction and council is the correct approach. And to those that are asking yes there are Homosexual Christians, Being Christian does not prevent us from having sin in our life.

Christianity and The Grace of God should be a blessing and not a burden on our life. Christianity should change our focus from this worldly sinful life to a heavenly purpose and promise. I DO NOT believe that we as Christians can be effective at leading others to Christ if we are beating them over the head with the BIBLE and The CROSS. All that accomplishes is to scare them away from the true Riches of Grace.
