What am I about
I am a 42 years old I Live in Iowa. I work at a large international manufacturing facility. I am a father, a son, a husband but most of all I am a Christian. Yet I do not like RELIGION.
My Beliefs:
To really understand me you must know what I believe. This blog is my attempt to more fully explain who I am and what I believe. It will be a ongoing project if you have a comment or question on a specific subject please feel free to comment or email me. I will attempt to answer here in the blog.
To me, My entire world is wrapped around the fact I am a Christian . My Christian beliefs and lifestyle affect the way I interact with the world and all my decisions. That does not mean I am perfect, in Fact if I were perfect I would not need Christ in my life.
What do I mean by Christian? A Christian is a person who knows and believes that Christ freely and willing gave his life on the cross as the COMPLETE and FINAL sacrifice for all Sin. He did this as a gift of Grace. All we have to do is to accept the gift. If you believe in and accept the gift of grace you are a Christian. I equate The gift of Grace to the gift of money. If I offer you $300 you only have the money when you accept it. Yet, it is only a gift if it comes without strings attached otherwise it is earned. NOTHING that we do can earn us Christianity.
Ro 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
What is Religion? Religion is man’s attempt to get right with God/ Supreme being. In my mind Religion has no place in Christianity. Why? God provided his complete and total word through the bible. His word should be sufficient for the establishment of his DOCTRINE for our lives. Yet in every religion I have ever investigated or practiced men feel the need to add to the word by bringing other doctrine not of the Bible. When you ask why do we do this or why do you believe that. Many times the answer is not biblical in nature. You hear " we have always done it that way" Or " because that is what are church covenant says" or some other equally weak none biblical answer.
About Sin. I believe we are all born into sin. Without the sacrifice of Christ that by Grace he died for us, We would all have to suffer eternal damnation in hell for that sin. Yet, "saved" or not we still sin. The only difference is that for Christians (who have accepted the gift offered to all) The penalty has already been paid therefore God will not punish us for our sins. I also believe that GOD does not PUNISH non-Christians here and now. God’s punishment for sin only comes for Non-Christians in the following eternity. Here in life on earth NONE are Punished by GOD. Yet that being said I do firmly believe that we do suffer life’s consequences for poor judgement.
How should Christians deal with SIN in others? WITH GRACE. Just like Christ shows us Grace and Mercy we are to treat others. A Christian should not be immersing themselves in a depraved and sinful lifestyle yet they should not persecute and degrade those that they perceive as being sinners. (There but for the Grace of God go I). Grace and Love go much further in persuading people to give up unhealthy and "sinful" activity. In my opinion MANY Christians tend to forget that GOD BY GRACE saved them from their depravity. They did not Change their ways then God forgave them.
